Park Street, between Royal Parade and Lygon St, Princes Hill. Thursday, 8th September. 5.40pm
The setting sun is low in the sky and, after one of the first blue-sky,
spring-like days of the year, the combination of the sun's light and
the warmth of the air is a glorious reminder that winter is soon to be
past.
Driving due east along Park Street, the setting sun is perfectly framed
in the car's rear window. The only thing visible through the rear
vision mirror is the intense glow of the sun, a vibrant mix of orange
and red, the brightness almost too much to allow a long look.
Looking ahead through the windscreen, all the colours of the wide
street and parkland ahead take on a rich hue due to a strong yellow
halo created by the sunlight.
